It has a separate driveway from the main house which is down the hill from the cottage. Driveway and roads are plowed in the winter and well maintained. The last 1/2 mile to the cottage is a dirt road that is easy to navigate. Hosts (Fred & Sabrina) are usually available in person from April 1 to December 1 and always available by text or phone. During the winter months, there are local hosts who are available help deal with any issues. Lockbox access allows for self check-in and check-out. Each home in our part of Hartland is on about 10 acres of land so there's lots of space but you're not so far from the neighbors that you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Lots of trees as well as plenty of open space. Long views to New Hampshire from the back deck. There’s a beautiful babbling brook that runs through our back yard with a bridge that allows you to cross the brook into the woods. There is no public transportation nearby so you will need a car to get to restaurants, stores and local attractions. Snow or good all season tires and front or all wheel drive is recommended for safe winter travel. During the winter, be aware that the Cottage is 1/2 mile down a town maintained dirt road. A car with good traction (snow tires, front wheel drive or all wheel drive, etc.) will be helpful. The town of Hartland does a good job of plowing the roads and we make sure that the driveway is plowed.
