Relaxing QUEEN ste. in Historic District near WNMU
Enjoy the history of this 1908 built house which was most recently remodeled in 2021. It is a registered cultural property in Silver City as The Thompson House. As many original features as possible were left and are a beautiful juxtaposition to the new, modern decor. You are mere blocks from the university, restaurants, galleries, gift shops, brewery, and coffee shops. This suite consists of a Queen bed, ensuite bath, living room. (Bath is attached to and accessed through the bedroom) The spacious living room area boasts a full size pull out couch, 2 comfortable sitting chairs, coffee table, large TV, small work desk, minifridge and microwave. The bedroom flows off the living room and provides ample light through the 2 walls of nearly floor to ceiling windows. We believe this room was formerly a sunroom. Attached to the bedroom is a full bath and features a walk in shower. All guests have shared access to the kitchen, enclosed porch on the second floor and the front porch. The kitchen has a stove, oven, fridge and freezer with cooking supplies and a few spices available. There is also a nice coffee & tea bar to enjoy along with a small bistro table with chairs. The second floor enclosed porch provides a great space to start or end the day. The large windows and wicker seating invite relaxation and conversation. Feel free to enjoy your morning coffee, afternoon read, or evening glass of wine as you enjoy the scenery from the large windows. This room is excellent for enjoying the afternoon rainstorms in the summer. The front porch is another available space for guests to relax, enjoy the scenery, and the fresh air or watch the rain come down. It includes a comfortable porch swing and two rocking chairs. It's a great spot to sit and watch the annual Tour of the Gila if you're lucky enough to be in town for that fun event. Though I personally am not in Silver City, I have a few great co-hosts that help me out that do live in the City. We are available for you via text and will do our best to make your stay delightful! Located in a quiet neighborhood on the border of silver City's North Addition neighborhood and the Historic district area. Within walking distance to downtown restaurants and shops. Downtown is just a short few blocks walk away from the house. There are restaurants, laundry, thrift shops, coffee shops, local artist galleries and Western New Mexico University, hiking trails at Boston Hill, and McCray Gallery of Contemporary Art are all within a short walk or drive. There is a local food CoOp in walking distance. The Walmart is across town, but a short drive in a car. There is a town shuttle that runs around town Monday through Friday. It is called Corre Caminos. The bathroom is only accessible by walking through the bedroom. This property is both smoke and pet free. No bikes are permitted in the house. Parking is street parking only (the driveway is reserved for long term tenants).
