Maple Moon Farm ~ Stay at a Historic Maine Farm!
Come and stay awhile! Unwind and enjoy a relaxing stay in our 1790’s farmhouse with many original features, situated on 120 mostly-wooded acres in southern Maine. Our farm features a commercial maple syrup operation, 200 high bush blueberry plants, a vegetable garden, pumpkin and berry patches, a variety of fruit trees, honeybee hives, miles of old logging roads for walks, skiing/snowshoeing, meandering brook, patio and outdoor fireplace, free-range chickens, and two large rescue farm dogs. Stay in a late 1700s farmhouse with many original features including wide plank floors, exposed beams, fireplace (not operational) in your living space, much original woodwork, etc. The private living space (first floor) has a pellet stove, bookshelves stocked with reading material and games, a seating area, antiques etc. There is a brand new private kitchen as of June 2021 with refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave,sink, pots, pans, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, dining table etc. There is a propane grill outside that guests are welcome to use. **Please note that a small grassy backyard must be navigated in order to access the guest entrance, and you must climb a non-carpeted staircase (14 steps) to reach the bedrooms and bathroom located on the second floor. If you have limited mobility or are unsteady on your feet, this property is likely not a good fit. Bedroom #1 is very large and has a queen bed, large closet, dresser, luggage rack, ceiling fan, exposed beams, exposed chimney, and skylight. Bedroom #2 is cozier and contains a double bed, closet, dresser, luggage rack, and built-in shelving. Both bedrooms have window air conditioner units. The private bathroom has wainscoting, a pedestal sink, toilet and shower. Private entrance with keys. Our living space is completely separate so you have plenty of your own space to relax as you wish. *PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS GUEST SPACE IS NOT SAFE -FOR TODDLERS due to the wooden staircase and bannister construction that is open along the side on the second floor and does not allow for effective placement of baby gates. - We are happy to host extended stays...please contact us if interested! - ALL applicable State of Maine Covid-19 prevention guidelines must be followed by guests. - No Pets - we love animals and have two rescue dogs of are own, but unfortunately we can't be flexible on this as we wish to keep the Airbnb space pet-free in consideration of guests with pet allergies Private entrance with keys, private living area, gazebo with adirondack chairs, patio with table, chairs and outdoor fireplace, hammock, chair swing, and several miles of logging trails for walks in the woods. Feel welcome to spend time with us learning about various aspects of the homesteading lifestyle, use the farm as a place to rest your head after day tripping to great nearby locations, or simply rest and relax in Adirondack chairs in the gazebo, relax in the hammock, read a book in front of the fireplace, or wander the property independently – the choice is yours! Rural small town No public transportation as we live in a rural, small town. From Maple Moon Farm, it is approximately 35 minutes to the ocean, 45 minutes to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, 1 hour to Portland, Maine, and the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and 1 hour 45 minutes to Boston.
