'Argentea' near Silver City
Our stone home on 5 acres (the 1st acre surrounding the house is fenced) is a quiet gated retreat at the very end of a gravel road. The living space is spacious and comfortable w wood burning stove for coziness or ambience. Huge kitchen w all appl New queen beds, ensuite bathrm, central air, full laundry, covered pergola w outdoor fire pit, swing, furniture, twinkle lights for nightime. Seeping 'den' with single bed off living area is good for extra guest. Solar windows. Great views. It's quiet and secluded. This area sits at about 6000 ft elevation and we have a great view of both the nearby mountains in one direction, and Arenas Valley in the other. Guests can use the whole house which includes kitchen, living room, laundry room, bedroom, bathroom, pergola, basketball hoop, grill, front of house, and fenced yard. Guests should not enter other buildings on property. There are 3 other separate living spaces that are not included (this is clearly marked) and our deck & entrance on the back side. We live on the property. Although technically connected, our living space and the air b&b are totally separate, including entrances and outdoor space. The only shared area is parking, which is clearly marked with signs. It is very quiet and peaceful. We have lots of wildlife to observe, and the views are excellent all year round. We bought this property to get away from urban life and to disconnect....comfortably. We have fast wifi, cold air conditioning, a great kitchen for cooking and entertaining (if that's your thing), and outdoor spaces that provide shade and a nice view while being close enough to the house that another cold beverage is only steps away. The night sky is truly dazzling. There's a roku TV in the bedroom and living room, and guests are welcome to use our various streaming services if you don't have your own. If books are more your thing, we've got plenty of those, too. You need a car to get around. If you do wanna leave Argentea, there's lots of good hiking and sightseeing around. Good pizza and cold drinks are a mile up the road. Or drive the 8 or so miles into Silver City to check out the art scene. The village of Santa Clara is a working class, rural mining town. Many generations of the residents have worked in the copper and silver mines nearby (where Silver City got it's name). The post office, the children's splash pad, and the park are the main attractions in "town". We are very safe. And, as you will see, Argentea stands all alone with no neighbors in sight. The only views you will have are the natural beauty of southwest New Mexico. Free parking on site for 2 cars. If you have more, please contact hosts and we can discuss options. You'll be given a gate code for check in and then a remote control for the rest of your stay. We have a small dog that is always leashed. We have chickens and ducks that you may occasionally hear, but won't see. Please do not leave your animals unattended outside.
