You never know how long they'll stay to visit or how many will show up for the party. The most important thing to know about mayflies is that while they look like a moth with a tail, they do NOT bite or sting. They tickle like a butterfly if they land on you but they can NOT hurt you. *The bedroom is upstairs but there is a hand railing going up the stairs. The other side of the stair case is completely open as shown in the pictures. We also decorate with a lot of glass. **(Unfortunately for this reason our home is not very suitable for children under the age of 6 or people who have trouble going up and down stairs.) *Parking ~ 1 car per reservation as we have very limited parking, parking is in our driveway. If you need to do a load of laundry just let Shelly or Gee Gee know and they will show you how to set the dials. We both have busy schedules but we are glad to answer any questions you may have. We enjoy getting to know new people but we also know there are days when you just want to relax and unwind and don't really feel like visiting. People are welcome to relax in the common areas or their room or deck whatever makes them comfortable. Point Place - A peninsula between Lake Erie, Maumee Bay & Ottawa River that was once it's own summer community of fishing shacks and summer cottages annexed by Toledo. In many ways (The Point, as the locals call it) still functions as it's own little community. Point Place is a hodge podge of summer cottages turned into permanent all year around homes. The area is busy with the local yacht clubs hosting regattas. If you love fishing, boating, kayaking, amusement parks, water parks, museums, concerts, baseball, football, hockey, ballroom dancing, live plays... we have it. We are also centrally located to Detroit, Cleveland, & Chicago. All of which you can drive to or ride the AmTrak in just a few short hours. Most everyone uses their GPS to get around now a days but if you have any problems finding anything let us know and we will help you find it. If you don't have your own transportation. We do have a very well run public transit bus system (TARTA). There is a pick up just at the end of the street with 1st run before 6am. It is very inexpensive to ride and you can get just about anywhere in town or the surrounding suburbs you may want to go. Even though it is getting colder Toledo does have public bicycles throughout down town that you can use. Just look for the yellow bikes. There are also local Taxi's & Ubers. If you are wanting to travel farther we are only about 15 minutes away from the Toledo AmTrac station & 20 minutes from a Greyhound Bus Station. The closest airport’s, Detroit & Toledo are both about 45 minutes away *No smoking or Vaping anywhere on the property. *The bedroom is upstairs but there is a hand railing going up the stairs. The other side of the stair is completely open as shown in the pictures. We also decorate with a lot of glass. **(Unfortunately for this reason our home is not very suitable for children under the age of 6.) *Parking ~ 1 car per reservation as we have very limited parking. You may need to move your car to let hosts out of the garage. Mayfly celebration on Lake Erie marks the beginning of Summer and typically runs May - July. You never know how long they'll stay to visit or how many will show up for the party. -- You may have to brush them off your car. The most important thing to know about mayflies is that while they look like a moth with a tail, they do NOT bite or sting. They tickle like a butterfly if they land on you but they can NOT hurt you. They are drawn to the light and just like the mosquitos, flies, and other bugs they may enter the house when the doors or screens are opened. ****The rest of the house is shared space.**** *Bathroom~ Walk in Shower, No bathtub. 1st floor. (bedroom 2nd floor) We do our best to accommodate our guest’s bathroom schedule. If you have an event, work or travel plans, please let us know and we will work our schedule around yours. **We have just added a 2nd bedroom if you have 3-4 people in your group. Ask us about our West Side Guest Room** airbnbdotcom/h/lakesidetoledo **NEVER walk on the ice unless you have confirmed with local authorities that it is safe to walk on the ice.
