My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business, and vacation travelers. I'm located in a safe neighborhood within walking distance of Historic Downtown Palmer. Hatcher Pass Recreation area is just up the road a piece. Traveling in August? The Alaska State Fair is literally out the front door. I believe in Alaskan hospitality--showing my guest the best of Alaska. Guest have a mini-suite with a private bath and bedroom. French doors opening onto a private deck with spectacular views of Pioneer Peak and a view up the Matanuska Valley. We are located in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood about 1 1/2 miles from historic downtown Palmer. Neighborhood is great for walking with outstanding views in every direction. Guest have access to the kitchen, dining and living room with a fire place. Palmer is located 45 miles north of Anchorage in the Matanuska Valley. Palmer was established in 1935 under FDR's New Deal, colonists were brought from Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin to farm. This is the agricultural center of the state with many of the original colony farms and barns still at work. Palmer has a historic district, quaint houses and local shops and wonderful local restaurants. Fresh veggies are abundant in the summer. Palmer is also the home of the Alaska State Fair known for its Giant vegetables. Palmer is located in South-central Alaska's recreational center: home of the Iditarod Trail and dog mushing, Hatcher Pass for hiking, berry picking, and Nordic skiing, glaciers, rivers and lakes for fishing, and Denali National Park is an easy drive away. This is a great central location for taking day trips and then relaxing with stunning views in a comfortable and inviting environment. Guest have access to kitchen, dining area and living room. I have 1/2 acre of yard with fabulous views. Lawn chairs on the private deck is great after a day of sight seeing and day tripping. I let the guest dictate how much socializing they desire. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for and experiences in Alaska. I also respect guest's desire for their own space. I am always available by phone, text or email Located in a quiet neighborhood about 1 1/2 miles from downtown Palmer. The neighborhood is walkable and people are friendly. Alaska State Fair grounds is within easy walking distance. A vehicle is essential for traveling in Alaska. If you are staying local, a bicycle would work. Parking is in the driveway in front of double stall garage. Please note: The Matanuska-Susitna Borough requires the collection of a Transient Accommodation Tax. The tax is 5% and is included in the rental fee. MSB, Revenue & Finance, Title 3, Chapter 3.32. Cleaning fee is included. There are two cats who will greet you upon your arrival. They are friendly and affectionate, in case you need a pet fix on your vacation. They are not allowed in the guest suite, although they will try. If you wish to enjoy the rest of the living area without cats being around, that can be arranged for a limited amount of time. The cats do not go outside.
