The Ponderosa cabin is a light-filled cabin nestled in Tonto National Forest 30 minutes or so northeast of Payson, AZ. The Ponderosa is located in a grove of shade trees, with a flagstone stairway leading up to the fishing pond. This 950 sq ft cabin sleeps up to six people within its honey pine-lined walls. A private bedroom contains a queen bed, a small loft above the kitchen area contains two twin beds, the living room contains a queen sofa sleeper, and a full kitchen and bath complete the accommodations. In addition to the amenities listed elsewhere, we also provide coffee, filters, and sugar. A gas grill, picnic table, and hammock are located just outside your door. The Ponderosa is one of five lodgings at Mountain Ridge Cabins. If this cabin is not the right size for you or if you’d like to book more than one lodging on our property, search for "Payson, AZ", then filter by entire house and cabins on Airbnb. Our cabins all list Mountain Ridge first, and the name of the individual cabin. Or visit us at MountainRidgeCabinsdotcom. The Ponderosa is located on 40 acres of property, which includes four other cabins, two fishing ponds, and a sport court — all surrounded by the Tonto National Forest. You will have full use of the Ponderosa, as well as sharing the 40-acre property, which includes two more ponds, horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, and cats. Each of the cabins has its own gas grill and shares the large, community back patio with a wood grill and fire pit. The community patio can be reserved for your group, but please arrange your time there so that you will be finishing up by 9 pm, the beginning of quiet hours. Managers for the property at on site for safety and emergencies. I may be there intermittently, but will give you your space. Mountain Ridge is surrounded by Tonto National Forest. This is truly a "get away from it all" place. We are adjacent to the Highline Hiking Trail, have a sport court for basketball and volleyball, as well as fishing on the property (bring your own equipment and bait and unbarb your hooks, as it is catch and release only). We are located 35 minutes northeast of the town of Payson, AZ, and its restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and gas stations. You want to be prepared for your stay. Please be sure to stock up on groceries and gas before heading up, as once you are here, you will not want to leave! Fishing on the property is catch and release only. We ask that you un-barb your hooks for this purpose. There is no need for a fishing license on this property, but please bring your own equipment and bait. Tonto National Forest occasionally restricts the use of fires during the highest fire danger season. Please ask if this will impact your stay when the time for your visit nears. Two night minimum stays required, unless a holiday weekend. We require three nights minimum then. If you wish to book more than one cabin, or to view the entire property or have additional questions, please visit our website at MountainRidgeCabins.com.
