This Historic Bed & Breakfast in the Heart of New Bern, NC, is the oldest Bed & Breakfast in New Bern - the house was built in 1804 and is well preserved. We are centrally located in the historic district of New Bern, and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, museums, art galleries and are only 3 houses up from Tryon Palace Breakfast included and we often feature Homemade Scones or French Crepes to start you off followed by a cook to order hot breakfast. The Twin Rivers room has two twin beds and shares the bathroom in the hall of the main house with one other room. Robes are provided for your use during your stay. This room has a Smart TV and has access to a mini fridge. Breakfast is in the Dining room and guests are encouraged to enjoy the Front Parlor where we have games, puzzles and another TV. Aside from your room, common areas include the living room, dining room, and the front porch. Please provide us with any food restrictions and your planned arrival time. We are "mid town" downtown, just close enough to walk to everything and just far enough to enjoy the quiet. In one direction, you are on the way to Tryon Palace (3 houses up the street) then on to the restaurants, shops, museums, art galleries and music venues of New Bern not to mention, parks and other fun venues like Beary The Hatchet Axe Throwing and Bear Town Escape Room or even just to have a peaceful stroll along the river walk. In the other direction you are just blocks from the growing Brew-muda triangle district, with craft breweries and food trucks! You can get a good bottle of wine at Savys Wine shop directly across the street and sit and relax on our porch, people watching and taking a minute to experience the beauty of the past. We encourage you to come into town via Front Street and take the scenic drive up Pollock Street to arrive at our B&B. We are within walking distance of the palace, the Trolly tour station, the historic preservation society, the Pepsi Museum, Firehouse Museum and many other shops and restaurants. You can also walk to the waters edge and neighborhood parks. Our private parking is limited to 1 car per guest room, but this is a neighborhood where you can park on the side of the street across from our front door! We also have a lovely wine shop directly across the street you can grab a nice bottle of wine and relax on the front porch swing. There are also bicycle rental / return stations within walking distance and scattered throughout the downtown area. We are a small town so allowing plenty of time for a taxi is always a good idea!
