Cape May Point is at the very tip of southern New Jersey, surrounded by the ocean with nature sanctuaries and trails all around it. It’s a lovely place for a getaway at all times of year and the pace is perfect for families and all generations. It’s truly a unique and awe-inspiring place, filled with nature, birds, beautiful dunes and lovely people. Primarily residential off-season, there are a handful of “places” to visit, which keeps things pretty quiet :) There’s a Lighthouse (which you can climb) and small local museum next door, bird observatory, Post Office, and Fire Station. You can also take a 5-minute walk down to Sunset Beach for miniature golf, shops, and a bite or ice cream oceanside at The Grill. It’s a few minutes’ drive to Cape May by car (or Uber) or a lovely 20-minute bike ride down Sunset Blvd. Cape May proper has tons of restaurants and shops, miniature golf, arcades, bike and surrey rentals, a public library, museums, trolley tours, food tours, theaters, fishing and whale watching trips and more. Also reachable by car nearby, there are farm stands for fresh produce, Beach Plum farm (which has a restaurant, gift shop, nature trails and chickens/pigs for the kids to feed), breweries, wineries and distilleries, the Cape May Wetlands (great for birding, running, nature walks), the Cape May Zoo, Cape May National Golf Club, playhouses, movie theaters, and Historic Cold Spring Village, to name a few. By car: • 1.5 hours from Philadelphia • 2.5 hours from NYC • 2 hours from Wilmington • 3 hours from Baltimore If you're coming from southern DE, MD or DC, you can also take the Cape May-Lewes Ferry (which takes cars) and spend a lovely 1.5-hours of your journey having lunch and watching the ocean. Dolphins are often spotted and it's a relaxing way to ease in to your vacation! By public transportation: • From Philadelphia, there's a direct bus (313) to the Cape May welcome center. From there you can call an Uber for the 5-minute drive to the house. • From New York City, there is a Greyhound bus that goes to Atlantic City (Harrah's casino). Then take the bus from the AC Bus Terminal (552) to Cape May. From there you can call an Uber for the 5-minute drive to the house. CHECK-IN: 4 pm | CHECK-OUT: 11 am ACCESS: The front door has keyless entry. You'll be sent a code shortly before your arrival. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING, NO PETS.
