This apartment has private and separate access from first floor apartment. Guests are asked to be sensitive to excessive or late-night noise as it is a two family house. Particularly loud groups are encouraged to seek out a single family home. Owner does not share your rented space. Only the outside area is shared with first floor. If you're booking one apartment its very likely another group may have rented the other one. As such, please be cognizant of noise as it could disturb other guests. The neighborhood is pretty quiet especially in summer months. Street is tree lined with older homes. Situated on a hill, great for a vigorous walk. Shops, restaurants and buses within 3 blocks. One mile from the Boston Marathon route. Downtown Boston, with all its historic sites is easily reached via express bus stop 3 blocks from house. Only a 15 minute ride from the Airport.Close to Boston College and area universities. Within 5 miles of Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Boston University, Northeastern, Brandeis and Wellesley College. Only 3 blocks from the Downtown Express Bus which will connect you to the Subway system and all the historic sites in the Boston area. A car is not necessary if you plan to explore the city. Within easy reach of historic Lexington and Concord (5 miles), Cape Cod (60 miles), Cape Ann (50 miles), historic Salem, New Hampshire, the Berkshires and so much more. Within half a mile of the house is a Whole Foods and general supermarket, banks, drug stores, assorted restaurants and diners, several yoga studios, a YMCA, ice cream and fro-yo, Starbucks and other independent coffee joints. This is NOT a party house. It is situated in a quiet residential area and the relationships I have with my neighbors and the city are important to me. Guests who plan to have large, loud gatherings are encouraged to stay elsewhere. The house is set up primarily for sleeping, cooking and gathering. This house is a home. Its been in my family for 40 years. What I offer guests is the experience of home: large rooms and comfortable spaces to cook and socialize in a 120 year-old Victorian setting. As an older home it is not perfect and not as pristine as the professionally shot photos. If you're accustomed to 5-star hotels this may not be the place for you.
