Of the many homes in Taos that visitors can choose from, very few can offer the old world charm and historic ambiance of this one. Built in the 1940's by Taos Pueblo workers contracted by artist Charles Reynolds, it is unique and very lovely. his space sleeps a maximum of five guests. There are two private bedrooms with great Queen mattresses and bedding. There are also two twin beds for extra guests or lounging.This home is furnished with many of the original antiques, and the walls are hung with paintings by the Taos artist Charles Reynolds and many others. You will feel that you have stepped back in time, surrounded by thick adobe walls and hand carved beams. Modern amenities include, wifi, flat screen tv, two pillow top queen mattresses and good linens, a new high efficiency heater, and plenty of hot water. The kiva fireplace adds the perfect ambience in winter, and the fragrance of pinion and cedar burning is unforgettable. All this and just a short walk to Taos Plaza, galleries, museums and restaurants. The house also has a large, private front yard. The casita has an evaporative cooler for use in the summer months. We are at 7000 ft in the mountains and the evenings stay quite cool, usually around 50 degrees, with very low humidity. The evaporative cooler also adds humidity, and most folks find the casita quite comfortable. If you require a standard air conditioner you should check other places. They are rare in Taos, but you may find a place that has them. The larger, original side of a duplex, about 1,600 square feet. It includes two bedrooms with a pillow top queen bed in each, two twin beds in the living area,one bath and a well stocked kitchen with adjoining dining room. It also has a massive fireplace, perfect for winter evenings at home. The spacious and private front yard and shady porch are perfect for your enjoyment of the summer and autumn days, and nights. I leave a key for the guests so they can let themselves in.Either I or my property manager will be available if needed. Lovely, quiet old neighborhood, walking distance to much of what Taos has to offer. Park your car and walk everywhere! You can park at the house and walk to many shops, museums, galleries and the plaza. Kit Carson Park is just a short stroll away, as is Michael's Kitchen.
