You drive up the dirt road called Smith Road and turn immediately left into a driveway directly in the rear of the house. You park in the space on the right and walk through the gate and up the stairs to the apartment. My wife and I are traveling. We have an experienced Property Manager who oversees the apartment. She will have the door unlocked for your arrival. She also makes the apartment ready for each booking. You will be amazed at the level of her care. She has back-up if needed. This area was where it all began for our town. The railroad ran through just two blocks away. It carried lumber, charcoal, and marble away; and it brought skiers from NYC up until the 50's. Now it is re-discovered and is home to great shopping, galleries, restaurants, and a unique fashion shop called Robin Lane. Robin's designs are well known to Donna Karen's clientele. Some call Manchester the 'perfect vacation town'. Parking on site. Use the spot on the right of the blue crushed stone car park. Room for two cars -- one behind the other. There is overflow parking on the property off to the right and uphill; and more in municipal parking lots nearby. It is important to leave the spot next to the house open for the downstairs tenant's vehicle. Certain eateries define Manchester. One is Depot 62 -- Turkish cuisine, one is Al Ducci's -- the legendary Italian deli, and one is Zoey's Sandwich Shop -- the best sandwiches in Vermont. All are within a short walk. Fine dining is on the ascent in Manchester. Groceries, wines, spirits, laundry, hardware, clothing, and art shops are minutes walking away. Park once and walk to almost everything!
