This casita is located on an organic garden and trout farm. A fabulous menu of healthy foods are available on request. 37 acres await you for hiking, rock hunting, bird watching, star gazing, and river fun. The beauty of this unique place is indescribable. Our guests have access to a system of several trails at various levels of altitude. from 6300 ft- 7200ft altitudes. Enjoy our river rock gardens, pasture area with wild blackberries, and check out our organic gardens! We are as present as you want us to be. Romantic get away? You got it. The only time you'll see us is if you want room service. Cultural immersion? Great! Let us introduce you to our friends! After a tour through our trout farm, you can visit our local dairy, coffee roaster, trout smoker, and organic vegetable farm. We are happy to make these arrangements- and they would love to show you how it's done, Tico style. Rio Blanco hosts one trout restaurant- only available on the weekends. Other restaurants are available in Santa Maria - aprox. 20 minute drive. Sun up is roughly 5:15 each morning. Mornings are warm and beautiful. Sun down is roughly 5:30 every evening. Perfect for star gazers, but it gets cooler in the evening. Warmer clothes for evening are recommended. These are mountain roads. Steep inclines, and often rough roads. 4x4 is recommended. The bus stops in Copey and Santa Maria should you choose that route. We are happy to get you back to the farm from either of those two towns. Transportation can be provided to or from the San Jose airport for $125.00- must be pre-arranged. It is important to understand that though temperatures average 73 during the day, it can get chillier in the evening. Warm clothes are recommended. Because we are located in the central mountains, there is a significant grade to road access- 4x4 vehicles are recommended.
