Historic William J. Bryan House
Restored 2 bedroom home built in 1909 on 1 acre by the famous American political leader, William Jennings Bryan. Nature & history lovers paradise! King, queen, movable single bed & a small Murphy bed that’s good for a teen or child. Basement ideal for card games. The acre has beautiful views, birds & butterflies galore with lots of privacy. We also have outdoor family games of cornhole, jenka & croquet. Yoga classes are offered Thursday evenings in one of the gardens. Let us know if interested. This one-of-a-kind charming farmhouse sits on an acre of beautiful south Texas paradise. There are walking trails where you will see several rare or endemic birds and butterflies throughout the year. The house is also a wonderful opportunity to learn about Bryan, and how he came to Mission, Texas in its infancy. Guests will find a lovely antique furniture that is not at all so stuffy it's uncomfortable. The house has 3 televisions with direct tv and wifi. Although there is a full kitchen, arrangements can be made for breakfast basket to be delivered. There is no washing machine on site, so should laundry service be needed or housekeeping, please contact me. I am not on the premise but do live a short distance away in case I am needed. I also have staff that can assist in case I am absent. We also have a room separate from the house that staff use to work. The house is centrally located to everything. It's close to several restaurants, boutiques, the expressway, hospital, nature parks, museums and also it's neighbor Mcallen which has the airport. South Padre Island is 1.5 hours away. The house is surrounded by beautiful butterfly gardens and multiple bird species. Mission does not have public transportation so guests would need a vehicle to get around or use Lyft/Uber. Again I'd like to re-iterate, special arrangements can be made for breakfast baskets, laundry or housekeeping.
