We love our home in the mountains. You truly feel like you are on vacation here. The back porch is one of our favorite places. Even in the dead of summer it is cool with a stunning view of the mountains. Sit in a rocker and enjoy a sweet tea! Our home is located roughly 15 minutes (6 miles) from Main Street in Franklin, NC. It has wonderful views and you will truly feel like you are in the mountains because you are! -We have carefully selected furniture and decor to make it feel like you are in the woods. The home has a cabin feel to it. -There is a beautiful stone fireplace in the main living area along with a dining room table that seats 6. The screened porch is off of the living space and has a stunning view of the mountains in all seasons. -Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. -There is 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom downstairs with a bunk bed that is a queen on top and bottom. -Also downstairs is a living/game room with large sectional couch, big screen TV and ping pong table. -There is a queen air mattress than can used in the downstairs area. -The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cooking equipment. We have a coffee pot, toaster, blender, and crock pot There are some basic spices for use as well. -There is a full sized washer/dryer downstairs. -There is an outdoor fireplace where you can roast marshmallows or just sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. -We have also recently built a beautiful deck that is open to the air and has amazing views. There is a table and chairs to enjoy coffee in the morning as the sun rises or even have meals. -Within 30 minutes is whitewater rafting, trout fishing, hiking, horseback riding, zip lining, gem mining and many other exciting outdoor adventures. -We are happy to offer recommendations for any of these activities. We visit often with our daughter and just love the area and location of the house. *As noted below, there is no Satellite/Cable TV or Internet at the home. However, Verizon, Sprint and AT&T cell service is available. If you have a hot spot with your phone you will be able to receive internet access. Both TV's are smart and if you have a hot spot you can get access to Netflix, etc. The whole house is available for guest use. We will be available to answer any questions. We have a handyman on call that can fix any unforeseen issues. Our "neighborhood" is on the side of a mountain. There are only a few other homes nearby. You will be at peace with nature while staying here. The views are amazing and you can unwind from your normal hectic life. You will need a car. There is no public transportation. *The home is located off a 1 mile long single lane gravel road. The road has some pot holes and dips due to recent rain but is drive able in any passenger vehicle. You will rarely meet another car but if you do there are areas to pull off and let them by. People are very friendly on the mountain! However, if you are not used to driving on mountain roads you may want to check in during daylight hours so you get used to the terrain. You will be an expert in no time. *The home does NOT have Cable/Satellite TV or Internet/Wi Fi. However, Verizon, Sprint and AT&T cellphone service works. We use these at hot spots when staying at the house. -We have two TV's with DVD players and hundreds of movies. -There is an assortment of board games and puzzles to entertain the entire family along with a ping pong table.
