Hood National Forest. 3 bedrooms and 1 bunk room sleep up to 10 total (3 couples in bedrooms and 4 individuals/kids in bunks) Contact us for specific details. Guests have access to the entire house, minus owner's closets and garage. For your safety, there is NO access to the 3rd floor loft space. Guests should also stay off the roof. The cabin is over an hour away from Portland; owner is available via phone, email, and text. There are about a dozen houses in the area (a few square miles) but only a few located within sight of this property. In the winter it is especially remote, as there is no vehicle access. There is no public transportation nearby. In the winter, the hike-in is 1.5 miles and takes between 30-60 minutes depending on pace. There is a downhill section coming from the parking lot on the way down. Most guests snowshoe or XC ski into the cabin. Hiking in with good boots is also possible, though if a lot of fresh snow has recently fallen it may not be the most enjoyable experience. Most of the time the trails are hard-packed / groomed so walking is fine. Guests are highly encouraged to pack out all of their trash/recycling as there is no garbage service in this area.
