Our cabin is set back on a private road less than a minute drive to the Manchester Center shops and restaurants, 7 minutes to Bromley and 20 to Stratton ski areas. Nestled in 8 wooded acres along the Bourn Brook, the loft is perfect for those who want to be close to Manchester shops, restaurants, and hotels yet in a secluded private setting for reading, enjoying nature or sitting around a camp fire with family and friends. Exposed heavy timber construction creates an industrial loft-like feeling with vaulted ceilings on the main level. Here, two large bay windows provide natural light and cozy places to sit and read or enjoy a cup of coffee watching and listening to nature. The open concept culinary kitchen is a treat for those who love to cook and a large 7’ long farm table is an ideal spot to eat, drink and spend time with friends and family. The smell of fresh coffee will follow you up the stairs to the vaulted master bedroom – a gallery of windows, green leaves and starlight. The house is situated to take advantage of passive solar - the living areas face east and south while the porch and bedrooms are west and north. Our house is well insulated to keep you cool during summers with radiant floor heating in the lower level and baseboards in every room will keep you warm at night. Bunk beds are not made for guests but sheets and pillow are available for use only. *Wood floors, leather sofa, chairs, coffee table, reading lamp and floor to ceiling windows and make a cozy space for reading a book, watching a movie or playing board games with family and friends. *French doors open onto a small terrace looking onto Mount Equinox above and Bourn Brook below. Whole home: *High speed wireless internet The entire house as described is available. Parking is on the drive which is plowed regularly during the winter. The kitchen and baths include everything you could need for a relaxing vacation except for your own food and bathing essentials. Skis and ski boots can be stored in the heated garage. We look forward to interacting with guests via email, phone or text. Since we do not live in Vermont full time our caretaker and co-host will make other arrangements for the key and house details. We have started a "house diary" for which we hope you will add an entry! For many years we have stayed at Air B&B’s all over the planet but this is our first foray into hosting one ourselves. For us though, this is our home away from home. As such, it is fully stocked and ready for your arrival! The house sits on 8 acres. There is a detached two car garage. Our house comfortably sleeps 4 adults and 4 children/young adults. For a party of more than 5 adults we may charge an additional fee for cleaning/wear and tear. For those groups who are younger than 26, we may ask for a deposit. We hope you will understand and please do inquire if you have any questions about your age or group size! Please, do not bring ski boots or skis in the house. No walking in the house with boots on and preferably no shoes (slippers are fine!). Our house has very clean well water with a lot of minerals in it. If you don't like the taste we've provided a filter in the fridge. Please enjoy! Because the house uses a septic system, it can have slow drains. Please use the strainers in the sinks and do not throw waste down the drains. The house has 3 heat sources (each floor has a thermostat): radiant floor heating on the lower level, hot water baseboard heaters on the upper two floors and a supplemental heating fan on the top floor. We are grateful if you respect our temperature recommendation of 70F.
