Two blocks from Main St & steps from Smith College, in the heart of vibrant downtown, this sun-flooded 2br apt/terrace with original 1890s wood floors is in the home of the family behind Northampton's iconic Inspirit Crystals shop. Your 2 south-facing BRs (1 w/sitting area) are drenched in sunlight. A fully equipped eat-in kitchen opens onto a small private terrace with café seating for 2 overlooking tree-shaded Trumbull Rd. Shared outdoor pool, garden w swing, play gym & sandbox for kids' use. The two bedrooms in the upstairs apartment of this Victorian home share copious sunlight, beautiful 1890s floors, comfortable bedding, and eclectic art. The kitchen doubles as a living space along with the small private outdoor terrace. No smoking is allowed indoors, but smoking is allowed on the terrace. Same day laundry service available on the premises for a fee. Entire private apartment and private terrace, shared yard and gated swimming pool (4' uniform depth, no deep end). My husband and I live in a separate part of the house and are usually available in person to help in any way, and to offer suggestions regarding restaurants, tourist attractions, etc. In the event that we are away, we are available by cell phone, and also have local backup people to help in any emergency. Your apartment is steps from downtown, yet it's on a quiet tree-lined street in a typical New England neighborhood with old Victorians, gardens, and people out walking their dogs. Walk out the door and you are two blocks, 5 minutes, from Main Street with its numerous well-known restaurants, shops, cafes, bars, breweries, and dispensaries. You are three minutes’ walk from the historic grand old Hotel Northampton, and Northampton's three-season farmers' market is one block away. Four nationally and internationally known live music and entertainment venues are also a short walk from your home-away-from-home. You are about a 7-minute walk to the Smith College campus where you can visit an art museum and an impressive greenhouse open to the public, or just take a pleasant stroll through the lovely campus which includes a lake and scenic waterfall. Everything you might need at home is steps from your door. State Street Fruit Store, a neighborhood grocery, deli, and excellent wine shop, is two blocks away at 51 State St. Across the street is Hungry Ghost, an award-winning bakery that turns out the most delicious breads in Massachusetts from their wood-fired ovens every day—until they run out, which can happen anytime. Sutter's Meat Market, at 65 King St. (an even closer walk from your apartment), sells meats from local farms. If you crave fresh fish, visit North Shore Seafood, our local fish market that gets its fish delivered directly from Boston's fish piers; it's at 166 King St., a five-minute walk from your place. On the way you'll pass our local coffee joint, Shelburne Falls Coffee Roasters, 4 minutes from home. For restaurants, shops, and nightlife galore, head to the intersection of Main and Pleasant, two blocks away, and explore in any direction. You can hop on a local bus to visit Amherst or other nearby towns or campuses (bus stops are within a couple of blocks of the apartment). The Peter Pan bus station, with frequent service to Boston, NYC, and other locations, is an easy 10-minute walk. Northampton's Amtrak station, also a 10-minute walk, offers direct train service to and from New York City. Driving time to Bradley Airport is about 40 minutes, the Berkshires (Lenox/Stockbridge area) is about one hour, Boston (and Logan Airport) about two hours, and NYC three hours. There is one off street parking space, and free (safe) parking on the street as well.
