Four bdrm cottage centrally located within less than 35 min. of 4 ski resorts, and next to the former Tater Hill golf club. Access to snowmobile trail on site, X-country skiing, hiking, fishing, shopping, restaurants, state parks nearby. In summer and fall mushroom foraging is very productive. For history buffs there is a revolutionary war era cemetery next to the property. Sleeps 10 to 12. The cottage is only available to family groups or responsible adults over 25. NO PARTYING ALLOWED. Beautiful country cottage set on an idyllic property, featuring a view of the mountains. The cottage features a fully equipped kitchen with all major appliances, coffeemakers (regular 12 cup & Keurig), toaster, popcorn popper, blender, etc. A Vermont Castings woodburning stove is in the fireplace to provide extra heat on a cold winter night. All linens and towels, as well as wood for the fireplace are provided. A Weber charcoal grill is available for BBQs. In addition to the main house, there is a barn that can accommodate one car. The house has 4 bedrooms. The master has a queen-size bed, and the other guest room on the second floor has two twins both with trundle beds underneath and can sleep up to 4 people. The third bedroom downstairs has a bunk bed with a twin over a full mattress, while the 4th bedroom has a twin bed with it's own private bath and outside entry. A central sitting room has a brand new queen size sofabed. All mattresses are memory foam! Guests have access to super-fast fiber optic internet, and can enjoy watching the 55-inch TV in the living room and the smaller TVs in the master bedroom and downstairs bunk bedroom. ROKU streaming devices are attached to each TV and are set to guest mode so that you can access your own streaming service accounts. The house is fully equipped to do your own cooking, if you so desire. There are also a handful of great restaurants nearby in the towns of Chester, Londonderry and Grafton. Manchester, with a large variety of restaurants and factory outlet shops such as Pendleton and Orvis is only 30 minutes away. We will not be at the cottage during our guest's stay, unless there is some sort of emergency. A lockbox with keys to the house is located next to the front door, and the code will be provided before guests arrive. In addition, arrangements have been made with a nearby resident to help if any emergency should arise. This beautiful cottage is situated on a knoll next to a Revolutionary War era cemetery. Nearby are state parks and forests, 4 ski mountains within a 35 minute or less drive, the closest being less than 10 minutes away (Magic), while Bromley is 20 minutes and both Okemo and Stratton are about 30 mins away. Mt. Snow is 45 mins away, while Killington is an hour away. In the summer and fall, you can go foraging for wild mushrooms in the nearby forests for cinnibar chanterrels, giant botelus' and morels. The fall foliage display is also spectacular. On Saturday mornings visit the West River farmers market in nearby Londonderry to get fresh organic produce and meats, cheeses, honey, and other fresh goods from local farms as well as crafts from local artisans. The Tater Hill Golf Club is visible from the cottage, but unfortunately it is now closed. However, it is a great place to go hiking or biking in the summer and fall or cross-country skiing in the winter on the golf cart trails. Lowell Lake State Park is less than 10 minutes away with activities such as hiking, fishing, boating and enjoying nature. It is recommended that winter guests travel to Vermont in an all-wheel drive vehicle, and preferably with snow tires. The road in front of the cottage, the driveway, and the parking spaces in front of the barn are all regularly plowed. There is an old airfield right next to the property which is often used by snowmobilers and X-country skiers in the winter and ATVs in the summer and fall. The snowmobile trail also connects with the VAST snowmobile trail system. PLEASE NOTE: This is a non-smoking facility. Any kind of smoking MUST be confined to the outside. Violations will result in a negative review. Due to some inconsiderate former guests, I can no longer allow guests to bring their pets. Please be aware that there are security cameras posted outside to prevent unauthorized entry to the cottage.
