Privately located walk-in camping sites are part of this beautiful working organic farm on a west-facing Vermont hillside. Guests will be dazzled by star-studded skies, treated to spectacular sunsets, and entertained by the two young farm cats. The farm is mosquito free but has millions of fireflies in summer. Have fun exploring. It's nature's playground at her best!!! Mountain View Cabin has the best view of the valley. It is close to the parking area and wash houses. It was originally designed for family use and will sleep up to five in four bunks. There is simply one room and a high porch. Couples may want to check out our Apple Hill cabin or Water Music Cabin (small cabin). There is no electricity, heat or running water in the cabin. IMPORTANT-- we provide wooden bunks with some form of mattress. Please bring your own bed & bath linens, pillows, towels and lights. We provide an outdoor picnic table and a fireplace. Firewood is available on the farm - $7 an armload. Please DO NOT bring any with you. Camping gear is NOT provided-- please bring your own! Our water is safe and very delicious. You are welcome to fill your jugs before you go. There are 70 acres on the farm for relaxing walks on the paths, farm animals to visit and two friendly cats who will welcome you. You are invited to explore all the areas of the farm. Find the many small bridges, hiking paths through the woods, mint patches and the Singing Meadow bee hives. Check in at the farm house when you arrive and Jinny or one of the other farmer hosts will greet you and orient you to the property. They are happy to answer questions and can help you purchase farm products available in season. You are invited to tag-along-on-chores in the morning, pick their own veggies with one of the farmers and see what is happening on the farm. Children should always be accompanied by adults when exploring. The area around the farm is typical of the rural back dirt roads of Vermont. Neighbors are nearby but we hardly see their buildings. Four Springs Farm is not far off the interstate and 5 miles from two local villages. It's around a half hour drive from White River Junction and Montpelier along Interstate 89. Good swimming holes are found in the White River down in the valley or at one of two lakes just 20 minutes away. We love to host bicyclists! and are happy to give you the best direction for getting up to our place on less than four wheels. HELPFUL INFORMATION TO MAKE YOUR VISIT TO FOUR SPRINGS FARM COMFORTABLE AND SAFE -- POLICIES for FOUR SPRINGS FARM CAMPGROUND COVID 19 policies --- Those vaccinated are welcome to come visit. Others will need to be tested within three days of coming to the farm. -- Directions to Four Springs Farm: We find that if you put Four Springs Farm into your GPS you will do better than the street address. Here are the directions so you are not mislead: Take I-89 to Exit 3 (Bethel and Royalton). Turn left on Rt. 107 and go east to Rt. 14. Turn left and take Rt. 14 north approximately 3 miles. Find Post Farm Road on the right. Take it to the top (about 1 mile), to Gee Hill Road. Turn left. The farm is the first place on the left. Number 776. -- Arrival time is after 2 p.m. (and after 3 p.m. on Saturdays) but NO LATER THAN 9 p.m. Please check in when you arrive. Children must be accompanied and supervised by adults at all times including “tag-along-on-chores” which you can arrange with Jinny for 8 am most days. Since this is a working farm and because voices carry easily here, we ask that campers are quiet once it gets dark. Responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted. Fires are permitted only in the provided fireplaces. Firewood is available for $7 an armload. Please do not gather or cut any on your own or bring it along with you. Smoking and cooking is not permitted inside the cabins. There is a trash barrel, compost bucket and recycling crate at the wash houses. Please do NOT put food waste in the trash or trash in with the compost. We’re sorry, but since this is a farm, pets are not permitted. Check out time is by noon. Thank you. -- THINGS TO BRING WITH YOU TO THE FARM Linens / sleeping bags for the cabins and wash house - We have cold nights in these New England mountains so you are advised to come prepared. Boots are recommended. There is no pavement on the farm. Some areas are often wet or muddy. Tall grass and woods areas are wet in the mornings from dew. Bug Protection -This is just the right habitat so we actually have VERY FEW MOSQUITOES or black flies and a nice breeze here most of the time sends those away, but you may find a few if you are here in the spring. Flashlights, lanterns and /or head lamps are recommended for site or cabin use and walking around the farm at night. There are no lights around the farm. All camping & cooking gear for preparing meals over the camp fire are your responsibility. Four Springs Farm water is excellent! It is so delicious you might want to fill your jug to take with you when you leave.
