Unique Vermont Barn Experience! 1880s restored barn on 2 acres in Manchester Village across from Southern Vermont Arts Center. Converted to a photo studio in 2004 when we moved from NY; spacious, comfortable, solar-powered, approx. 1 mile to Main St. (town roads, no sidewalk), close to shopping, restaurants, golf, hiking, skiing, etc. Beautiful views, Mount Equinox front, the Green Mountains back. No pets. Not suitable for children under 12. (License number MRT-10126712) You will enter into a large open living space with a couch, chairs, a desk, a small game table, and a dining table. In one of the large cabinets against the wall there are some games, cards, puzzles, and books. One of the large cabinets is empty for your storage usage. In the kitchen area you will find plates, cups, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, an electric tea kettle, a Keurig coffee machine, a French press, and a small fridge with freezer. If you would like to do a little cooking while you’re here -- though not necessary with all the great restaurants in the area! -- there is a griddle, an induction stovetop with two burners, a microwave, and a toaster oven, and step-by-step instructions for all of them! Also right outside the front door is a gas grill with grilling utensils. The photo studio has been moved up to the loft and that area is not part of the rental space. Outside: Parking is right out in front of the barn in the driveway. The outdoor garden to the north has a bench. It’s a lovely place to sit and read or to look at the back garden. Also available is the firepit complete with wood and fire starter. It has adjustable string lights and outdoor Bluetooth speakers. The barn and our house next door is the original farmstead for the Webster Estate - now called the Southern Vermont Arts Center. Our view to the West includes the Arts Center’s Sculpture field in the shadow of Mount Equinox. The barn was built in the early 1880’s and housed livestock until 17 years ago when it was revamped completely into a digital photography studio. It is super-insulated and powered by a solar array out back. Recently, several old trees were taken down in the grove, then milled and used in the conversion to this new AIRBNB space, i.e. the new sliding doors, counter surfaces, bath floor, and tables were built by Les, using this wood. The barn will continue to be used as a studio when needed and you will see traces of equipment throughout. Also, nearly all of the artwork throughout is Les’ work. Parking is right out in front of the barn in the driveway and the front door is right off the parking area. There is another entrance off the south bedroom with a small upper deck and access to a larger deck area. The loft area of the barn is off limits. The back flower garden is a Photography project in progress. Every year Les photographs flowers for those seed packets you see at your garden store in the spring - those Burpee vegetable and flowers packets are very likely to have his photos on it. Please do not pick the flowers without some guidance from Les. Our house is close to the barn but we will respect your privacy. Please call or text if you need anything, and DO NOT HESITATE to knock on the door. Located on the outskirts of Manchester Village, this two-acre property is quietly removed from other properties but close to town and activities. A grand view of Mount Equinox is righ outside the doors. Parking is off the street and the downtown area is about a mile away. GOLF - Please ask us if you are interested in golf - we can get you guest passes at Manchester Country Club. Les is a member and can arrange play at this very nice private club. PHOTOGRAPHY - Also let us know if you are interested in a “Photo Walk” or some time to talk about photography, your camera or even your iPhone. Lessons are also available if you want to get all formal ( Les has used this space for lessons and was formerly an Adjunct Professor at NYIT).
